Good Morning World
…or so we hope, but hope is a shit plan.
As I enjoy my first cup coffee early this morning and listen to Darryl Cooper once again wax ever so eloquently about the world around us I realize how fragile the foundation is upon which our Republic rests. It is alarming to acknowledge the stark truth that we live in a digitally manufactured facade of freedom. Our elected leaders are corrupt, and it would be better for all of us if they simply wore a jacket with all of their sponsors adorning available space and their cars displayed the top donors centered on the hood. This way we could actually see who is really running what is left of the country our forefathers passed on to us. As I periodically step back and detach from the world around me, I see a country in decline, not continuing to lead as it once did. Our hubris simply won’t allow us to acknowledge change needs to happen. But what change, and in what order? Yes, that is one of many questions that occupy my mind this morning. I intend to drink the entire pot of coffee beckoning to me from the countertop this morning and organize all of the disparate thoughts leisurely scrolling through my mind. If I am lucky, by the time I work my way through 96 ounces of caffeine laden goodness, I will have succeeded in compartmentalizing and cataloguing each one of them. If not, there is always another carafe to dive into. Lastly, I am fortunate to have an outlet for what kicks around in my head, and want to thank Darryl Cooper for motivating me to finally put in words what rests between my ears. With that being said, I would be remiss to close without leaving you with something snarky, yet eloquent. This honor goes to Sir Winston Churchill, “Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing happened,”
